Update for Update’s Sake

Zach here. Nandan is still away on some Grecian business. The details are foggy and the whole thing smells rotten if you ask me. Like feta cheese.

Meanwhile, progress is slow. I think a lot, but act much less often. Mostly I’ve been watching things. I’ve got a thing now for the erotic thriller genre, sparked by a recent viewing of ‘Basic Instinct.’ It has the makings of a masterpiece, but I think that it fumbles somewhat in trying to trick itself out with a twisty/turny plot. I would love to do a remake someday, though according to YouTube, I’m not the only one to have felt this way:

I also got a kick out of ‘Body Heat’, though William Hurt seemed a little too hard to be taken like that, and Kathleen Turner seemed a little too soft to be taking him. Either way, I now know that when a broad plays hard to get, I’ve only got to smash a chair through her window and she’ll melt.

I watched ‘Indecent Proposal’ somehow having gotten it into my head that it was also an erotic thriller. It was actually just one of the more darkly cynical and upsetting movies ever. I don’t know what I was supposed to think about that whole mess. Every principal character was flat out despicable at some point or another, if not consistently. If this was intentional, it was brilliant and daring. Otherwise it was just shockingly backwards. So I don’t know what I thought.

If you haven’t caught on yet, I’ve got nothing to say.

Oh, recently I’ve been fearing that the film actually sucks and I’m wasting my time. If you’d like to be the judge, let me know and I’ll e-mail you the outline. Feedback would be appreciated in such trying times. Thanks. Later.
